Oklahoma Baptist University invites applicants for the tenure track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Psychology. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching and guiding undergraduate students toward learning and success and will be expected to teach multiple lower- and upper-level undergraduate courses in psychology. May also teach other courses in the catalog or develop new courses that align with one's interests and background, with prior approval. The standard load is 24 credit hours per academic year. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise psychology majors and minors with the course and career options. All duties should be performed so that the Christian faith is integrated with the discipline of psychology.

Essential Functions: •Teach both lower- and upper-level undergraduate psychology courses •Serve as an advisor to psychology majors and minors •Assist in recruiting students to the psychology program •Keep accurate class records and submit reports and grades •Keep regular office hours for advising students

Other Duties: • Maintain an active program of professional development • Serve on university committees and take an active part in shaping the work of the division • Support and guide student research and practice • Work regularly with faculty members from other disciplines

Qualifications: Required •Area of specialty is open, but must be able to teach multiple psychology courses •Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and pedagogy •Be able to conduct a college classroom to maximize the student learning experience •Be able to adjust teaching methods to meeting student needs •Be able to work effectively with students in individual advisement as well as small and large class environments •Be able to relate to colleagues in the OBU community as well as be a representative to the professional community beyond OBU •Be proficient in office technology, office software (including various Microsoft tools), and classroom presentation software •Master's degree in psychology with hours toward the PhD degree •Must be an active member of a local evangelical * church

Preferred •PhD in Psychology •Experience teaching undergraduate in a Christian, liberal arts environment

*Evangelical is a broad term referring to a segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
