Assistant Facilities Director
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
The Assistant Director of Facilities & Food Services at Crossroads Baptist Church provides leadership of its facilities and food services programs. He/She supports the Director of Facilities & Food Services and other church ministry leaders while leading Crossroads' facilities efforts at the director level. He/She provides that support with strategic insight in facilities maintenance and repair, event planning, and vendor management He/She is responsible for leading a team of housekeeping and facilities team members to ensure that the facilities are prepared for ministry activities. He/She works to ensure that the missions, programs, and events of the church are supported with excellence. He/She helps foster a professional work environment and strengthens overall church ministries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with pastors, directors, and church support team to develop proactive, effective facilities and food services strategies.
2. Maintain awareness of events to prepare spaces and support resources for each ministry.
3. Create and maintain a system for requesting facilities & food services support.
4. Trains and manages paid and volunteer teams to support church ministries.
5. Represents the church to facilities & food services vendors and local municipal authorities.
6. Promptly answer phone calls, e-mails, and texts requesting support. Including some off-hours requests.
7. Attend Ministry Leadership Meetings & Staff Meetings, as needed (may require evening or weekend hours).
8. Track and record business expenses according to policy.
9. Maintain organization of assigned office area & storage areas.
10. Maintain & coordinate a yearly maintenance plan for campus facilities.
11. Adhere to all personnel/organizational policies & exhibit a spirit of cooperation with other ministry personnel.
12. Perform other ministry tasks as directed by Executive Pastor or Senior Pastor.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Assistant Director of Facilities & Food Services reports directly to the Director of Facilities & Food Services and serves under his/her direction, being accountable first to him/her, then to the Executive Pastor, then to the Senior Pastor, then to the Personnel Oversight Team, and finally to the congregation.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS
1. A strong and growing relationship with Jesus and promote the church's values and theological beliefs in daily life.
2. A strong desire to care for others and meet their needs.
3. Must be fully aligned with the values and mission of Crossroads and represent it well.
4. At least 2 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance and repair, and/or vendor management.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead small teams and develop team members through training and mentoring.
6. Ability to work well with all levels of staff, volunteers, church members, & vendors, etc.
7. Exceptional character & attitude: including patience, reliability, & attention to detail.
8. Exercise good judgment & discretion; maintain confidentiality.
9. Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands & deadlines; demonstrate flexibility in the face of change or uncertainty.
10. Must be tech savvy and willing to learn new technologies.
11. Excellent verbal, written, & phone communication.
12. Strong administrative & organizational skills.
13. Intermediate skills with office productivity software (e.g. MS Office Word, Excel); proficient skills with e-mail, texting, and facilities management software.
14. High school graduate or equivalent required. At least some technical facilities, vendor management, and supervisory training preferred.
15. Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds, reach up and bend down, navigate up and down ladders, be on your feet most of the workday.

TIME REQUIREMENT
40 hours per week on average, scheduled with supervisor. Occasional evening or weekend hours will be needed.
Position requires a pre-employment criminal background check, child safety training, and drug screening.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The annual salary budgeted for this position is $41,600. It is eligible for overtime, but overtime is not expected of the position.
At the director-level, this position has the following benefits for the 2024-2025 fiscal year:
o Health insurance (High-deductible plan, family eligible, 90% of premium is paid by the church), may include an HSA contribution each year
o Dental insurance (Family eligible, 100% of premium is paid by the church)
o Vision insurance (Family eligible, 100% of premium is paid by the church)
o 403(b) retirement contributions (church contributes 5% of base salary and matches 100% of employee's contribution (up to an additional 3% of base salary)
o Monthly phone stipend
o 160 hours of Paid Time Off (a combination of sick/vacation days) annually
o 16 paid holidays off
