Assistant Pastor Position Description

We are seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) full-time assistant pastor who affirms the BFM 2000 ; has between 6 to 10 years of pastoral experience; is a graduate of an evangelical seminary—preferably a Southern Baptist seminary—or has at least seminary-level theological education. The candidate should be married.

We are looking for a candidate with an evangelistic and discipleship-driven heart, who loves Christ and His church, who faithfully preaches the Word of God and who supports the mission cause.The Assistant Pastor will be responsible for supporting the Senior Pastor in preaching, spiritual leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care of the congregation. He will also play a key role in developing and strengthening the ministries of the church.

Key Responsibilities❖ Preaching and Teaching➢ Share in preaching duties during regular services as assigned.➢ Lead Bible studies and discipleship classes.

❖ Pastoral Care➢ Visit members in hospitals and homes.➢ Provide biblical/pastoral counseling to individuals and families.

❖ Ministry Development➢ Support and lead specific ministries according to the church's needs.➢ Train and supervise volunteers and ministry leaders.➢ Be willing to work as part of a team.

❖ Administration and Coordination➢ Collaborate in planning church events and programs.➢ Support general administration and maintain communication with the congregation.

❖ Key Skills➢ Biblical preaching, study, and teaching.➢ Leadership and mentoring of ministry teams.➢ Pastoral counseling and congregational care.➢ Clear and effective communication of the Word.
