About Us:

King’s Cross Church (KCC) was planted in 2012 in downtown Flushing with a vision to be a community of broken people following Jesus in the story of how He is renewing our neighborhood and our lives.

Role Description:

A minister who feels a heart and calling for shepherding and has a Christ-centered and others-centered conviction. The assistant pastor of KCC will execute the vision cast by the session to bring gospel flourishing to God’s people.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Youth Ministry
   • Provide grace-driven teaching and mentorship, contextualized for youth in the Flushing/Queens community
   • Design, detail, delegate, and execute plans for youth ministry
   • Lead weekly Friday night gathering of youth students and equip volunteers to develop relationships with the students
   • Develop relationships with the parents of the students
2. General Pastoral Duties
   • Participate in church-wide pastoral care, outreach, ministry oversight, and church-wide planning
   • Assist in facilitating various parts of Sunday worship, including preaching
   • Attend staff meetings, pastoral staff meetings, general leadership meetings, and session meetings when called upon

Qualifications:

1. Master of Divinity (M.Div) from an accredited seminary
2. Ordained, willing to transfer into, or ready to pursue ordination in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA)
3. Observably exemplary lifestyle as delineated in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
4. Grace-driven and winsome approach to ministry
5. Agreement with and excitement about the basic principles of Reformed theology
6. Supportive of the vision and priorities of KCC
7. Evident gifts and experience in preaching, gathering/relationship-building, structuring ministries, and discipling young and/or new believers

Compensation:

In the spirit of transparency and in accordance with New York City law, compensation for this role will include a salary range of $65,000 – $80,000 plus additional benefits.
