Job Overview

The Assistant Pastor of Students & Community Life serves as a full-time collaborative team member who provides gospel-centered, relationally focused, directional leadership to advance NCF's mission, focusing on the areas of student ministry (i.e., grades 6-12) and community life (i.e., small groups, integration, as well as fellowship and outreach gatherings).

Job Description

Ministry Responsibilities:

Student Ministry Responsibilities (55 % of role)

• Sunday evening large group.

• Plan, promote, and participate in special student ministry gatherings (e.g., summer and winter retreats, trips, small groups, etc.).

• Weekly parent/student communications.

• Ongoing contact work with students and parents (e.g., plays, sporting events, graduations, etc.).

• Recruit, coach, and support ministry volunteers.

• Integrate students within NCF's overall life and ministry (i.e., A/V team, hospitality team, etc.).

• Develop and maintain the student ministry budget.

Community Life Responsibilities (30 % of role)

• Support, coordinate, coach, and advance NCF's Connect Group and Discipleship Group ministries and their leaders/facilitators.

• Lead the process of integrating into the NCF's life and ministry with the goal of church membership.

• Organize and execute 2-3 membership classes per year.

• Sunday Logistics

• Oversee Sunday morning hospitality setup and guest connection, including follow-up.

• Oversee the coordination of the Let's Do Lunch fellowship meal (monthly).

• Coordinate logistics for large fellowship or outreach gatherings (seasonal).

Additional Responsibilities (15 % of role)

• Able to preach when needed (once licensed) as well as other teaching opportunities (i.e., equipping workshops, ministry training, etc.).

• Assist in leading worship as needed.

• Attends staff and session meetings.

• Assist in hospital visitation, especially with students and their families.

• Performs other duties assigned by NCF's leadership & Session.
