The Associate Pastor – Worship Arts is responsible for leading the RCC family and friends into an inviting and engaging worship atmosphere during the Sunday morning gatherings at RCC. He will be responsible for planning and executing the musical and creative elements involved in the weekly Sunday morning gatherings as well as leading in special/seasonal programs, including audio, visual, and lighting (AVL) technology.

Job Description

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus
• A good handle on the Scriptures and of the grace of God through Jesus
• Ability to lead with creativity, passion, and clear vision for worship
• Possess a high level of initiative and follow-through
• Able to recruit, lead, and develop musicians and vocalists
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain healthy relationships with coworkers and volunteers
• Demonstrated technology competence, including audio, visual, and lighting and associated computer/software skills

WORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and direct the Sunday morning worship gatherings in consultation with the lead pastor
• Ensure that all of the musical and technical aspects of the service are well-planned, rehearsed, and ready to advance the goal of the morning
• Lead the musicians and vocalists to grow spiritually and musically
• Build into the team leaders and team members as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ
• Manage the budget for worship and technology
• Plan and direct seasonal or special programs according to the ministry calendar of RCC
• Plan and lead (and/or coordinate worship leadership for) weekly rehearsals
• Set, attain, evaluate, and modify short-term and long-term goals for the worship ministry that align with the vision and mission of RCC
• Select songs that are biblically and theologically accurate that complement the theme of the morning
• Ensure selection of appropriate keys for vocalists
• Conduct tryouts for potential new musicians and vocalists applying candor and grace in the communication of results
• Attend weekly RCC staff meeting
• Other duties as assigned

AVL TECHNOLOGY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all audio, visual, lighting, and other technical aspects of Sunday morning gatherings function well
• Ensure livestream is up and running with precision and high quality
• Ensure video recording of Sunday gatherings is captured for online access and archival purposes
• Edit and upload sermons online
• Recruit, lead and train/develop the AVL tech team
• Lead/assist in upgrading lighting and sound capabilities as needed
• Recruit and schedule volunteers for helping with special events
• Load (or coordinate) song lyrics into ProPresenter

REQUIREMENTS FOR PASTORS

• Be in agreement with Riverview's Statement of Faith
• Embrace the Core Family Values that guide the ministry of RCC
• Perform sacerdotal functions as needed: communion, funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.
• Ability and desire to teach occasionally as part of the Sunday morning teaching team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• College degree or of degree in progress
• Previous leadership experience in a worship-focused ministry

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Work closely with all RCC ministry leaders
• Report to: Lead Pastor
