Associate/Administrative Pastor

JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Associate PastorReports to: Senior PastorPosition Type / Hours: This position is classified as a Full-Time (ministerial) position. A minimum of 40 working hours in a given week is expected and is to be coordinated with the Senior Pastor. Hours can include time spent at the church offices, outside ministerial activities, and private study/preparation time. The work schedule is flexible; being affected by seasonal activities and administrative needs of the church.Purpose of Position: This position will assist the Senior Pastor with ministerial and support needs of the church as well as give oversight and leadership to various ministries to ensure the development and direction of the church as a whole. The Associate Pastor will handle administrative leadership of the church as well as leading Missions and Young Adult Ministry.Qualifications:• EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in a ministry area.• EXPERIENCE: Ministry experience of 3+ years' is preferred.• BELIEFS: Applicant's statement of faith must be in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message doctrine and teaching.• SKILLS: Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for this position as well as leadership skills since it involves helping lead the church and specific ministries of the church.

Primary Job Duties / Responsibilities:• Handle administrative tasks of church leadership like overseeing the church calendar, tracking attendance, helping with the agenda for staff meetings, etc.• Preaching in Wednesday Night Worship. Helping teach Connect Class on Sunday mornings. Preaching some Sunday mornings.• Being available to cover various responsibilities in the Senior Pastor's absence.• Working with the Senior Pastor and Worship Pastor to plan weekly worship services.• Provide oversight as the staff liaison for building projects of the church.• Cooperating with all staff to promote the entire ministry plan of the church.• Represent the Senior Pastor at committee and ministry team meetings as requested.• Oversee and provide leadership to the various ministries of the church to help evaluate & improve.• Help guide and support the missions efforts of the church through organizing quarterly service projects in the community, planning of mission trips both internationally and domestically, and working with our Missions Team on missions partnerships.• Give leadership to Young Adult Ministry which includes four Young Adult Life Groups, special events, and our annual Build Parenting Night and Cherish Marriage Night.• Work with the Senior Pastor to plan and execute Equip Classes in the Spring and Fall.• Overseeing our Counseling Ministry for Sunday morning worship and outreach events.• Assisting the Pastor with hospital & home-bound visitation.• Assisting the Pastor in ministerial and support needs as they arise (baptisms, funerals, weddings).• Helping preserve and promote church unity.• Help perform any other duties as assigned by the Pastor.Job Description Disclaimer and Acknowledgement:Employees are subject to the Church's Constitution and By-Laws as well as the Hickory Withe Employee Handbook.
