Title of Position: Associate Pastor

Reportable to: Senior Pastor

Principle Function: The associate pastor is to assist the Senior Pastor in all pastoral responsibilities and give attention to administrative details related to church ministry and discipleship needs of the church.

• With overall church programming, aid in special projects, follow through with specific assignments related to general pastoral activities & member care.
• With regular preaching & teaching responsibilities using the Word of God as the primary tool of discipleship.
• To implement his God-given vision by developing the plans & processes needed fulfill the vision.
• By maintaining clear lines of communication with him to gather his input, insight & affirmation related to plans & decisions.
• By maintaining clear lines of communication with church volunteers in training & equipping them for effective church ministry.
• By meeting regularly with various ministry leaders & helpers for planning, coordinating, implementing & evaluating ministry activities in accordance with overall church vision & mission.
• By conducting semi-annual reviews of ministry activities with ministry leaders to assess their dreams, goals, or needs, & provide practical strategies for success with ongoing recruitment of volunteers.
• With communication & coordination of yearly church calendar events to include planning for seasonal & special activities.
• With new member orientation & new Christian training.
• With evangelism & outreach efforts of the church.
• With discipleship training that includes "in-reach" efforts for member, regular attender & visitor care, effectively "closing the back door" as the church grows numerically.
