Job Overview
The full-time Associate Pastor of Discipleship is a God-called and Scripture-qualified pastor whose primary role is to shepherd and oversee the discipleship ministries of Greenmonte Fellowship. The Associate Pastor of Discipleship has a passion for equipping and discipling members to grow in their faith and live out their calling as followers of Christ. This full-time role reports to the Lead Pastor and collaborates with staff and lay leaders to create a culture of intentional spiritual formation.

- Discipleship Strategy: Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive discipleship plan that aligns with the church's mission, fostering spiritual growth through Bible study, small groups, mentorship, and other initiatives.
- Life Group Ministry: Oversee the development and health of life groups, recruiting and training leaders, and ensuring groups are biblically grounded and relationally strong.
- Teaching and Equipping: Teach regularly in various settings and equip members to disciple others, emphasizing practical application of Scripture.
- Assimilation: Focus on integrating new visitors and members into the church community, ensuring they feel welcomed, connected, and involved in church activities. This involves overseeing processes like welcoming guests, leading membership classes, connecting individuals with small groups, and encouraging volunteer participation.

- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support lay leaders and volunteers to serve in discipleship ministries, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Pastoral Care: Assist the Lead Pastor with visitation, counseling, and other ministerial tasks as needed and as available.
- Integration: Interact with and oversee ministries (e.g., kids, youth, worship) to ensure discipleship is woven into all aspects of church life.
- Administration: Manage discipleship budgets, resources, and events, maintaining clear communication with staff and the congregation.
- Other Responsibilities: Assist the Lead Pastor with worship responsibilities, which can include preaching, praying, making announcements, and coordinating with other ministries during the service. Attend a weekly staff meeting. Involvement in other church ministries based on gifts, interest, and time available is encouraged.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in biblical studies, ministry, or a related field required; Master's degree (e.g., M.Div., M.A. in Ministry) is preferred. Formal biblical or ministry training is necessary.
- Experience: Prior experience in local church discipleship ministry preferred, with a proven ability to develop and lead spiritual formation programs.
- Skills: Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to connect Scripture to everyday life. Proficient in leadership, organization, and team-building.
- Character: A mature, growing follower of Christ with a heart for discipleship, humility, and a commitment to biblical integrity. Meets biblical qualification of an elder. Must affirm Greenmonte Fellowship's Statement of Faith and Statement of Marriage and Sexuality.
- Relational Fit: Approachable, collaborative, and able to build relationships across generations.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position including some evenings and weekends for ministry events and services.
- Office space provided at the church.
- May include offsite meetings, visitation or training.
