Job Overview
Snellville Community Church seeks an Associate Pastor to lead its Connections (assimilation process) and Community Engagement efforts. The Associate Pastor will be crucial in building connections and bridges between first-time and repeat guests, congregation members, and families with kids within our church community.

Our ideal candidate is a passionate individual with a college degree in a ministry-related field committed to multicultural and multigenerational ministries and has a proven track record of serving and connecting people to the church and the church to the community.
The position offers a salary range of $60,000 – $65,000 depending on ministry experience. The work schedule will be 40 hours weekly, including Sundays. The Associate Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Developing positive relationships with members of all ages.
- Recruiting, training, and scheduling staff and volunteers effectively
- Fostering relationships with partner schools and current and potential community partners to connect parents and students to the Church.
The successful candidate will be a team player, a resourceful self-starter, and, above all else, possess an understanding of people from different cultural and generational backgrounds and experiences. The Church seeks enthusiastic, energetic, and creative candidates who demonstrate expertise in various church assimilation, discipleship, and community engagement practices, procedures, and approaches. Job Description
DESCRIPTION: To build connections and bridges between all first-time and repeat guests with congregation members and families with kids within our church community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a ministry-related or equivalent field.
- Minimum five years of experience in pastoral or closely related community-based non-profit ministry.
- Alignment with the Statement of Faith and Practice.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong people skills include developing meaningful and lasting relationships with staff, church families, community members, and partners.
- Demonstrated track record of leadership, communication, organization, and relational skills to implement projects for action/results.
- Able to see problems and solve them professionally, with integrity. A demonstrated ability to learn and take initiative and direction.
- Demonstrated ability to discern needs and respond proactively with sensitivity, empathy, and wisdom.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pastoral and Worship Planning (15%)
- Support the Senior Pastor in executing the strategy to achieve the church’s mission of Doing Life Together.
- In consultation with the Senior Pastor, create and oversee the environment for spirit-filled, enthusiastic worship experiences that welcome and inspire people.
- Work with the Senior Pastor to plan all corporate worship experiences of the church, including special services such as Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and All Saints Remembrance.
- Leading the liturgy (welcome, prayer concerns, prayer, assisting with Holy Communion) at the 11:00 am traditional service and participating in various parts of the 9:30 am Praise and Worship service.
- Occasional preaching on special services and in the absence of Senior Pastor.
- Other pastoral or administrative duties as assigned by Senior Pastor.
Congregation Connections (30%)
- Collaborate with the Events Coordinator to create warm and welcoming environments for all guests and provide complete information per their next steps.
- Create follow-up methods to ensure newcomers are plugged into the church’s life.
Community Connections (45%)
- Recruit, train, and coach church volunteers to build strong relationships with preschool/kindergarten parents and the parents of our community partners who use our gym and facilities.
Staff Formation [10%]
- Supervise all paid worship team staff (including worship and video coordinator, worship leader, traditional music director, and organist) in personal and professional development, fully utilizing their gifting and passions.
