Associate Pastor of Family Ministries & Outreach
Job Overview
1. Oversee and coordinate the overall ministry strategy for children through young
adults with a goal of connecting campus ministries to community outreach.
2. Oversee visitor follow-up
3. Supervise teaching teams for the youth and young adults. Support the children’s
preschool, and nursery ministry directors.
4. Mentor leaders, recruiting, training, encouraging, and supporting adult volunteers.
5. Oversee all family ministry budgets
6. Develop a family ministry philosophy and strategy and create short and long range
goals in connection with the Senior Pastor and elders.
7. Fulfill miscellaneous pastoral team responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Job Description
Qualifications: 1. Spiritual: A man of prayer who treasures his time alone with God and demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit in both his private and public life. 2. Relational: A servant-shepherd committed to developing strong relationships with people of all ages. 3. Educational: Biblically trained and competent to defend the Charis statement of faith and BBC membership covenant. Willing to obtain Charis ordination within 3 years.
4. Spanish Speaker a plus
5. Initiative: He should enjoy a challenge, be industrious, creative, a “self-starter,” open to ideas from others–an administrator who is willing to work within a supportive team environment. 6. Missional: The candidate should be passionate about making disciples–leading people through a life-long process that begins with conversion and baptism and results in a disciple-making disciple.
