Job Description
Associate/ Youth Pastor
Hopeful Baptist Church, located in beautiful western Hanover County, VA (20 min from Short Pump, 45 min from Charlottesville) is seeking a full time Associate Pastor. Hopeful Baptist Church is aligned with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia principles and believes the Bible is the absolute truth and that God's Word is the final authority. We believe the Old and New Testament is the inerrant, verbally inspired and infallible Word of God. Additionally, we believe God's Word is timeless, has the power to change lives, and must be heard. This position shall serve in conjunction with the Pastor in carrying out the ministry of the church and is building relationships with all members while ministering to their spiritual needs. This position is specifically responsible for leading ministry of children, teens and young adults, implementing Biblical teaching, fellowship, worship, discipleship, missions, and involvements in ministry and evangelism.

– Demonstrate a strong calling to student, youth and young adult ministries.
– Relate exceptionally well to youth, parents and younger adults.
– Understand and commit to Hopeful Baptist Church and its mission.
– Attend all services (i.e. Sunday School, Worship, Revival Meetings) and special events.
– A bachelor's degree from an approved SBC college ispreferred or equivalent along with credible experience.
– Demonstrate strong leadership, diplomacy, organizational, and oral/ written communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Develop, organize, promote and manage all aspects of middle school, high school, and young adult ministries including but not limited to: weekly, monthly and annual activities, interest groups, bible study, VBS, mission trips, retreats, servant and/or missional activities.
– Work with Pastor and church leadership to evaluate, adjust, and grow each age-level ministry along with implementing new strategies for growth in keeping with the church's mission, vision, and strategic planning. Provide updates or progress towards goals at regularly scheduled intervals.
– Evaluate current instructional materials and activities for effectiveness and adjust appropriately.
– *Provide and communicate short-term and long-range planning that will develop structure and a system that will allow for future growth. Strategically plan, set goals, and budget finances for each calendar year.
– Attend school activities (when possible) to help develop a greater understanding of student culture and how to bring Christ into that world.
