Associate Pastor of Students and Families
Job Description:
The Associate Pastor of Students and Families is responsible for giving directions to the overall educational and activities ministry of grades six through twelve and for college and career aged individuals to promote evangelism and discipleship by planning, promoting, coordinating, conducting and evaluating the youth activities of the church.
Position Summary: To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Bible, to build relationships with Students and their parents that develop passionate Christ followers who develop passionate Christ followers, to recruit and train volunteer leaders for student and family ministry, and to implement the administrative aspects of Students and Career Ministry as it relates to the entire church.

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide Pastoral Ministry with the Student and Family Ministry (students, parents of students, and student leaders) and coordinate the training of others to do likewise.
Plan and execute a calendar of events that promotes growth and community and accomplishes the goals outlined for Student and Family Ministry
Plan and execute an overall student teaching plan for a balanced, comprehensive study of the Bible and its application for students.
Annually assess the state of student and family ministry with the input of church and student leadership, and formulate a plan to execute regular improvements.
Recruit and invest in a team of volunteer adult leaders to provide relational opportunities to model and teach Biblical principles to students
Coordinate and implement an annual student ministry budget proposal, and administer that budget as approved by the Budget/Finance Committee.
Create opportunities for parents to engage with their students by providing resources, events, and direction with that goal in mind.
Provide opportunities for students and families to be directly involved in missions and ministry – serving both locally and outside the community.
Coordinate the planning and implementation of student environments/events that model evangelism, worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission.
Coordinate the enlisting, discipling, training and motivating of adults to serve in youth ministry.
Provide opportunities to share the gospel with students and parents who are unchurched on an ongoing basis, both individually and cooperatively.
Network with other evangelical youth leaders in the community to support youth in school campus ministries.
Provide training and leadership development to Student and Family Ministry team LeadersMaintain effective communication with other ministry staff to ensure that all student ministry events and services are executed to the standards of Fall Creek ChurchProvide counseling and support to parents during difficult timesMaintain Christian counseling referral options for students and families in crisis.Maintain resources for parents to use to improve their parenting skills and encourage them to be the primary spiritual leader in their child's lifeTeach and coach people to teach at weekly/regular eventsMaintain relational contact with students outside of ministry events both interpersonally and through technology.Support students and families in times of crisis and celebrationWorking knowledge of computer and social media skills necessary to communicate and operate in the current culture.Preaching and Sunday morning worship participation.Assist the Senior Pastor as needed in planning, preaching, officiating weddings and funerals, and in whatever duties required by the Senior Pastor.Accountability: The Minister of Students and Families is under the direction of the Senior Pastor and the Personnel Committee.
Administrative Expectations:
Providing reasonable reports on ministry goals and progress as requested.Maintaining expenditures within budget.Being present for Staff Meetings absent approved Paid Time Off.Involvement in all Sunday morning services absent approved Paid Time Off.Reasonable office hours as agreed to by supervision and Personnel Committee.
