Associate Pastor of Worship & Students
Job Overview
The Associate Pastor of Worship & Student Ministry serves Mission Point by providing pastoral leadership in both corporate worship and student discipleship (6th–12th grade). This full-time role exists to help shepherd the church toward spiritual growth and faithfulness to the mission of Mission Point Church—Love God, Love Others, and Make Disciples. The Associate Pastor will lead Christ-centered worship experiences, cultivate a healthy and Gospel-focused student ministry, and model servant-hearted, shepherd-like leadership while working closely with the Lead Pastor, church staff, and church leadership.
Job Description
WORSHIP MINISTRY LEADERSHIP:
– Plan, lead, and oversee weekly Sunday morning worship gatherings in collaboration with the Lead Pastor
– Lead congregational worship that blends contemporary worship music with hymns
– Recruit, train, and shepherd worship ministry volunteers (musicians, vocalists, and tech team)
– Select biblically sound, Christ-exalting music that aligns with the church's doctrine and mission
– Organize worship rehearsals, schedules, and service flow
– Assist with special services and seasonal events, including church-wide gatherings and outreach opportunities
STUDENT MINISTRY LEADERSHIP (GRADES 6–12)
Relationships
– Build Gospel-centered relationships with students, investing in their spiritual formation
– Care for, invest in, and shepherd student ministry volunteers
– Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding ministry vision, events, and student needs
Discipleship & Leadership
– Serve as a Christ-like spiritual role model for students and volunteers
– Recruit, train, and equip student ministry leaders, with particular emphasis on small group discipleship
– Develop, plan, and teach biblically sound and culturally relevant curriculum
– Serve as the primary teaching presence within the student ministry
Planning & Administration
– Oversee Sunday morning and Wednesday night student ministry gatherings
– Coordinate planning, preparation, communication, and execution of student ministry events
– Lead event planning for ministry events, hangouts, outreach opportunities, and camps/retreats
– Manage the student ministry budget and resources responsibly
CHURCH & STAFF COLLABORATION
– Work closely with the Lead Pastor in planning, prayer, and shared leadership of the church
– Collaborate regularly with the church secretary to support communication, scheduling, and ministry coordination
– Serve alongside and support the church board of deacons and trustees in unity and mutual respect
– Participate in the overall life, mission, and pastoral care of Mission Point Church
– Engage in outreach and relationship-building within the Mansfield community
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS

– Demonstrated ability to lead worship vocally and instrumentally
– Strong leadership, organizational, and relational skills
– Alignment with the mission, doctrine, and values of Mission Point Church
– Willingness to lead with humility, sacrifice, and a shepherd's heart
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– A bachelor's degree in Bible, Theology, or equivalent
– 1-3 years of vocational ministry experience
