Founded in 1904, Fairview Baptist Church is located west of Reidsville, NC in Rockingham County. Fairview is a healthy, growing, multi-generational congregation that is impacting its community with the love of Jesus Christ. We are searching for an Associate Pastor of Youth & Children's Ministries. This is a full time, salaried position.

Qualifications: *a born again Christian who professes Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior;

* a clear call by God to serve in the area of youth and children in discipleship and spiritual growth;

* ordained or willing to be ordained in and by a local church;

* affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000;

* self-motivated individual who is able to manage and organize responsibilities;

* a relational person who seeks to love and serve all people in the church;

* Biblical knowledge with the ability to teach others to understand the Word of God so they can make application to their daily life;

* a desire to grow in their personal walk with the Lord and their calling in ministry;

* a commitment to a teamwork approach with other staff, lay leaders and volunteers.

Responsibilities:

* work under the direction of the pastor;

* participate in weekly staff meeting with pastor to pray, reflect and plan for ministry;

* attend all regularly scheduled services at the church;

* assist in worship services of the church, as needed;

* primary discipleship responsibility will be the youth and children's discipleship programs;

* schedule and lead regular Youth Council & Children's Council meetings;

* collaborate with the Youth Council & Children's Council in planning and overseeing discipleship and special events for youth and children and programs to support them;

* have knowledge of the available resources and materials for church education; ensure all needed materials are ordered and available in a timely manner;

* work in VBS to lead in teaching and other activities as requested;

* provide training for children and youth Sunday School teachers;

* help implement sexual abuse prevention and response policies;

* assist pastor in pastoral care;

* collaborate with pastor and others in creating and implementing new member class;

* be active participant in the mission & ministry opportunities that the church is involved within the community and beyond;

* be willing to assist in other duties as assigned by the pastor.
