CHURCH PROFILE Tanglewood Bible Fellowship (TBF) is an independent church located in Duncan, Oklahoma, made up of people from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds, united by their faith in Christ and a desire to grow spiritually via study of the Bible. We are primarily focused on the essentials of the faith and try to leave room for disagreement on secondary issues. The church initially met in members' homes, and with the Lord's blessing, the initial property was purchased and the first building was erected in 1977. Our building is paid for, and the church has no mortgage or debt. The current Senior Pastor (David Shields) was hired in March 2020 following the retirement of Pastor Brad McCoy after thirty-three years of faithful ministry. Our most recent Family Pastor resigned in July 2025 after being hired and working on our children, youth, and family ministry since October 2021. TBF currently has one building, one wing includes an auditorium, three classrooms, a nursery, and a kitchen. In the other wing, there are three offices and the recently remodeled second, smaller auditorium. We have 65 members with a regular attendance of 40 on Sunday mornings. The average children's ministry attendance is 5 kids, and the youth group averages 1-3 each Sunday. Currently, there is children's programming from 0 through 5th grade on Sunday mornings, no youth programming, and Awana Clubs for ages 0 to 12 on Wednesday nights. Throughout our history, there has been a consistent fluctuation between children and youth, with one group being significantly larger than the other.
