The Cowboy Baptist Church (CBC) in Irvington, AL is an extremely unique fellowship of believers who is prayerfully seeking a full-time associate pastor for "Children & Education." Our prayer is to find someone with a heart for ministry, a love for people and a desire to see souls saved and lives changed. Position Description

As associate pastor to Children & Education, you will be responsible for the pastoring of children and their families through the implementation of ministry strategies that will build a foundation of faith that will last a lifetime. As pastor of education, you will be responsible for the development and administration of the educational ministries of the church involving Sunday school, discipleship, Bible studies, small groups, and leadership training for leaders, teachers, and mentors throughout the educational programs of the church.

Job Description

Pastoral Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pastoral duties, as well as participation in all meetings such as staff, planning, and retreats.

Children's Ministry – Specific Responsibilities

• Cast the vision for a vibrant (CBC) children's ministry.
• Identify and equip volunteers for the various ministry roles such as Sunday school, children's church, nursery, and childcare.
• Develop an active outreach ministry to preschoolers, elementary children, and their families.
• Encourage and disciple young families for spiritual growth.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate all children's programs and activities such as camps, trips, and ministry opportunities for the children to participate.
• Develop and Implement safety and security policies for children ministries.
• Oversee and manage the budget for all children ministries.

Education Ministry – Specific Responsibilities

• Develop, direct, and oversee all educational ministries, such as Sunday school, discipleship, Bible studies, and small groups.
• Oversee and approve all curricula, teaching materials, and resources of the CBC.
• Facilitate the sharing of space and resources among all ministry departments, while collaborating with ministerial staff and volunteers regarding educational growth opportunities.
• Oversee and manage the budget for education ministries.

Experience and Education Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent, preferably enrollment or graduate of a Bible University.
• Experience working with Children and or Education preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Meet the character qualifications for a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
• Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity.
• Commit to and support the theological stance of CBC. (BF&M 2000)
• Should be a motivated, self-starter who is able to prioritize and manage multiple programs.
• Should exhibit professionalism demonstrated by a well-groomed appearance and reliable work ethic.
