First Baptist Church of Colfax is seeking a part-time (24 hrs. a week) Associate pastor, in the hope that it will develop into a fulltime position over the next couple of years.

Job Description

The associate pastor will work alongside our current pastor to serve and care for the congregation, facilitate ministry activities, and disciple individuals in their relationship with Christ. They will have the opportunity to use their gifting across a broad range of church life as opportunity and occasion allow. They will be expected to regularly attend church functions (Sunday School, Church services, Monthly prayer gathering).

Although the associate pastor will be expected to have a larger scope of service than the church's music ministry, he will oversee this aspect of our church life by:

1. Working with the senior pastor to plan and facilitate the weekly corporate worship gathering, as well as special events (Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Etc.).
2. Recruit and equip church members to help facilitate corporate worship.
3. Disciple, through practice and teaching, the congregation in God-glorifying worship.

Employment Requirements:

1. Candidates must meet the character and gifting qualifications of an elder defined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
2. Some theological training (undergraduate or graduate degree) preferred but not required. Opportunity and support for continued theological training will be provided.
3. Must affirm with the church's doctrinal statement and covenant.
4. Candidate must be musically proficient enough to lead singing from either the piano or guitar.
