http://ASSOCIATE STUDENT PASTOR, CROSSPOINTE CAMPUS Primary Function: To carry out Franklin Heights Church vision for reaching and discipling students (middle school and high school, grades 6-12) by creating a thriving environment where students become Christ's disciples to live lives that are SENT. Reports to CrossPointe Campus Pastor and Student Pastor. Responsibilities: 1. Align with the FHS vision and communicate the philosophy of ministry and vision to students and families. (The SENT Pathway – Know God, Find Community, Discover Your Purpose, Leave a Legacy.) 2. Be part of the Student Ministry Pastoral Team that facilitates and executes: a. Prayerful alignment in seeking God's wisdom and direction with other Student Ministry staff. b. Wednesday night student service programming (approx. 80-120 students): i. Expected to teach 1-2 times a month or as needed ii. Expected to help plan/fill in as needed iii. Oversee and equip our Student Welcome Team iv. Facilitate and lead a new believer (monthly four-week class) connect group on Wednesday night during our student connect group time. c. Implementation of a Connect Group for students who attend CrossPointe on a Sunday mornings. d. Assist the Student Pastor with equipping students to use their gifts to serve. e. Weekly outreach to local middle and high schools. f. Assist with planning and execution of student ministry events. g. Oversee Student Social Media accounts and follow proper protocols and strategies. h. Assist with developing and implementing strategies using our church database of students to help students be part of the SENT Pathway. i. Oversee the CrossPointe Student Budget. 3. Within all Student Ministry areas, develop a passion for unreached students: a. In coordination with the Student Pastor, design strategic local ministry events specifically aimed at presenting the Gospel. b. In coordination with the Missions Pastor, design and coordinate annual local, area, and international mission projects for students. c. Attend student functions such as local sporting events, concerts, etc. d. Build relationships with community leaders and be involved in major church community events. e. Attend, participate, and lead students to be involved in major church community outreach events (VBS, Strawberry Festival, GO Outreach, etc.). 4. The Associate Student Pastor will have a strong Biblical base, be capable of effectively teaching the truths of God's Word and will be spiritually mature. 5. The Associate Student Pastor must secure, train, nurture and develop a highly committed team of volunteers from the CrossPointe Campus to make the vision of Franklin Heights Student Ministry a reality. This person must equip, organize, and delegate the work of the ministry through this team. 6. Provide counseling to students/parents when needed; make pastor visits to students and families and other church members and guests; attend weekly staff meeting; be a faithful tither to Franklin Heights Church; be respectful and supportive of the vision of the church outlined by the Senior Pastor. 7. Work week consists of Sunday-Thursday, On Call Weekends roughly every ten weeks (that includes half day Friday/Weekend emergencies/Funerals, etc.) Additional time is expected for special events, outreach, funerals, and weddings. Skills and Characteristics: • Born-again Christian with a deep, personal relationship with Jesus who believes the Bible is God-breathed and accurate • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with children, students, and adults • Self-motivated with high energy, able to manage the creation, planning and implementation of students transitioning from children to student ministry and into young adult ministry with students who attend the CrossPointe campus • Team player who is willing to help wherever needed and is supportive of all ministries of the church • Ability to function efficiently and professionally while multi-tasking • Willing and able to work independently or with others, depending on what the project requires • Trustworthy, understands how to manage confidential information appropriately • Approachable and adaptable in collaborating with volunteers, staff, and congregation Educational/Work Requirements: A college degree in a related field of ministry is preferable, a seminary background would be a plus.
