Associate Worship Pastor
Purpose The Associate Worship Pastor exists to help lead the people of Hopewell Baptist Church into genuine, Christ-exulting worship. Partnering closely with the Worship Pastor, this role supports and strengthens every aspect of the worship ministry-Sunday gatherings, rehearsals, special events, and the ongoing discipling and development of volunteer musicians and team members across a wide range of abilities. This position plays a vital part in creating Christ-centered, Spirit-led worship experiences where our church family can encounter God, lift their voices together, and grow in devotion to Jesus. Through musical leadership, administrative support, and relational investment, the Associate Worship Pastor helps advance our mission of "Leading People to Follow Christ.
Job Skills & Requirements • A committed Christian and regular participant at Hopewell Baptist Church • Musical training and proficiency • Proficiency with worship ministry software is advantageous but not strictly required for qualified candidates • Ability to work Sunday-Thursday with a minimum of 40 hours per week • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong ability to multitask and manage deadlines • Ability to work as a team member and lead teams • Bachelor of Arts in music/worship preferred • 3-5 years leading worship experience Worship Leadership & Rehearsals • Lead rehearsals for Praise Team and Band each Wednesday night • Lead Sunday worship services • Provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals, worship services, funerals, and other requested events Relational Ministry & Team Care • Provide pastoral support and relational investment in worship volunteers • Foster a Christ-centered culture of encouragement, unity, and spiritual growth • Be available and attentive to volunteers' personal and spiritual well-being • Model Christ-like leadership through prayer, Scripture, and relationship-building • Create an environment where volunteers feel valued and equipped Planning Center Management • Maintain Planning Center Services • Schedule band and vocal teams • Prepare weekly orders of service • Add media, charts, and audio files • Monitor and encourage participation Media & Production Preparation • Build ProPresenter files • Coordinate multitrack preparation with Audio Director • Maintain music flow chart and secure assets • Create, arrange, and edit music charts Administration & Communication • Communicate with ministry teams via email, phone, and social media • Update weekly rehearsal announcements • Place orders for music and supplies • Maintain digital music library • Maintain copyright licenses including CCLI reporting Additional Duties • Carry out additional duties as required, understanding that this description is not exhaustive and ministry needs may evolve
