Key Responsibilities
Relational Leadership & Visibility
• Build trust through consistent personal engagement with pastors—such as regular check-ins, meals, and on-site visits—by maintaining a regular rotation of visits to each BBA church, ensuring a visible and supportive presence throughout the year.
• Serve as a "pastor to the pastors," modeling a shepherd's heart and cultivating a culture of mutual care and encouragement. Vision & Strategy
• Assist churches to plant new churches in partnership with NAMB, the Florida Baptist Convention, and BBA congregations.
• Help churches design and implement revitalization strategies to assist struggling churches with customized plans for renewal, growth, and sustained gospel impact. Equipping & Development
• Champion ongoing education and leadership development by organizing cohorts, training events, and peer connections, while helping pastors and lay leaders identify and pursue effective resources for personal and professional growth. Communication & Collaboration
• Maintain strong communication channels with all BBA churches.
• Facilitate strategic collaboration among churches—sharing what works, what doesn't, and what's next.
• Represent BBA with SBC partners, championing associational engagement at every level. Church Health & Unity
• Strengthen trust and unity among pastors and churches, cultivating a spirit of shared purpose and support.
• Promote church health and evangelism, with the goal of increasing baptisms, calling out and discipling leaders to fulfill the Great Commission while multiplying and strengthening local churches.
• Serve as a peacemaker in times of conflict, helping churches restore gospel focus and relational harmony. Qualifications
• Spiritual Maturity: Demonstrates a humble, Christlike character rooted in prayer, Scripture, and servant leadership.
• Ministerial Experience: Active member of a local Southern Baptist church; Pastoral experience required.
• Mission Alignment: Deep commitment to the Great Commission, and the cooperative work of the SBC. Subscribes to the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
• Leadership & Strategy: Proven ability to lead strategically, coach effectively, and develop mission aligned plans.
• Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Self-starter with strong planning, follow-through, and administrative capabilities.
• Cultural Awareness: Familiarity with current trends in church health, growth, revitalization, and leadership practices. Preferred Qualities
• Preaching and vision-casting abilities to inspire and mobilize churches.
• Experience with church planting networks or revitalization efforts.
• A collaborative spirit with the ability to build trust and work with partners at all levels of SBC life.
Organizational Vision & Culture: The Brevard Baptist Association is a cooperative network of autonomous Baptist churches united to advance the gospel, strengthen congregations, and support one another through shared mission and leadership development—guided by biblical convictions, relational trust, and a regional vision for Kingdom impact. 8/7/2025
