Associational Mission Strategist
The Lincoln Association of Baptists is prayerfully searching for an Associational Mission Strategist. This is a full-time position located in central Kentucky serving 53 local churches and their pastors. More details can be found in the job description below. Job Title: Associational Mission Strategist (AMS)
Reports To: Associational Leadership Team / Executive Committee
Position Overview:
The Associational Mission Strategist (AMS) serves as the primary leader and facilitator of mission strategy for the association of churches. The AMS works to strengthen, encourage, and equip churches to fulfill the Great Commission in cooperation with one another, fostering unity, vision, and effectiveness in ministry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vision and Strategy
Lead the association in developing and implementing a clear mission strategy aligned with
biblical principles and the association's purpose.
Facilitate collaboration among churches for evangelism, discipleship, church revitalization,
and church planting.
Help churches assess community needs and develop contextual ministry responses.
2. Church Support and Encouragement
Build strong relationships with pastors, church leaders, and congregations.
Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and counsel to ministry leaders.
Assist churches in times of transition, conflict, or crisis.
Promote leadership development and training opportunities.
3. Mission Mobilization
Encourage and coordinate local, national, and international mission partnerships.
Help churches engage unreached people groups and underserved communities.
Support cooperative efforts in compassion ministries, disaster relief, and community
engagement.
4. Administration and Communication
Oversee staff and associational resources responsibly and transparently.
Communicate regularly with churches about associational ministries, events, and
opportunities.
Represent the association in meetings with state conventions, mission boards, and other
partners.
5. Leadership Development
Identify and mentor potential leaders within the association.
Promote ongoing education, networking, and resource-sharing among church leaders.
Encourage collaboration and peer learning among pastors and ministry teams.
Qualifications:
A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry, missions, or associational leadership. (5-15
years pastoral experience)
Strong relational, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to lead collaboratively and foster unity among diverse churches.
Agreement with the association's statement of faith and mission.
Bachelor's degree required.
