The purpose of the Logan Todd Baptist Association is to assist associated churches in carrying out the Great Commission of reaching the world for Christ.
The job of the AMS can be briefly identified as a threefold task:
Evangelism and church planting – to partner with the churches of the LTBA in the work of engaging lost people through evangelism and church planting.Church revitalization/replanting – To guide and aid struggling churches within the Logan Todd Baptist Association.Pastoral support – to provide support, training, consultation, and encouragement to the pastors and church leaders of the LTBA to help churches reach their maximum efficiency and effectiveness.The AMS is accountable to the LTBA through the Executive Board and shall provide an annual written report. He is supervised by the Administrative Committee.

I. QUALIFICATIONS
A. CHARACTER: He should first be a Christian. By this, it is not only meant the initial experience with Jesus Christ, but one who is Christian in his living and his relationships with others.
B. EDUCATION: He should possess educational qualifications that will command the respect of the leadership in the Association and at the same time possess enough humility and common sense to enable him to help the most helpless in the area. He needs to know Southern Baptist programs and be able to adapt them to the area in which he serves. He should maintain the commitment to being a lifelong learner.
C. MATURITY: He should be capable of making mature judgments and of carrying out responsibilities. He should also possess ability to delegate responsibility as well as develop responsible leaders within the Association.
D. COMMUNICATION ABILITY: He must be able to communicate. Not only will he need to be a capable speaker, but he will also need to communicate ideas through teaching and promotional activities.
E. ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITY: He needs to be able to make plans for organizing to accomplish the tasks within the Association.
F. EXPERIENCE: He should have some experience in rural and urban living and be acquainted with rural and urban problems. He should have administrative experience in working with staff.
G. PERSONAL LIFE: One of the first duties of the AMS is keeping his family and home life priority. He and his family will maintain membership in a local church and must not neglect the church where they hold membership. His family should set the example of a Christian home in the community.
H. The AMS is expected to relocate to and live within the area of the LTBA or within a reasonable driving distance to the Associational office.
II. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. TO THE ASSOCIATION
1. The AMS will serve and function in the capacity of an Executive Secretary for the Executive Board and when representing the Association.
2. He shall supervise and administrate all Associational staff.
3. He shall give general supervision to the total program of the Association and set regular meeting times for the Administrative Committee.
4. He shall correlate the work of the Association including supervision of the calendar of activities.
5. He shall serve as ex-officio member of all committees of the Association and work with them in developing objectives, goals, and procedures relating to church organizations.
6. He shall supervise the promotion and administration of the Associational Budget.
7. He shall work to maintain a spirit of unity within the Association.
8. He shall endeavor to relate with all Baptist related institutions, ministries, departments, and programs.
9. He shall seek to be available as "Pastor of Pastors" to council, encourage, and assist pastors and church staff.
10. He shall endeavor to make personal contact with each church at least once annually.
11. He will prepare and distribute the "Mission Digest" monthly.
12. He will keep an accurate mailing list of pastors, officers, and leaders of the Association, and maintain a current Pastor Supply list.
13. He will present regular progress reports, projected activities, and plans to the Executive Board at their regular meetings.
IV. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: To be determined by the Administrative and Finance Committees.
