Bi-Vocational Pastor
Position Summary:
We are seeking a spiritually mature Bi-Vocational Pastor with a strong focus on discipleship and a vision for youth and young adult ministry. The pastor will be responsible for preaching during Sunday morning and evening services, as well as leading Bible study on Wednesday evenings. Additionally, they will guide our congregation to function as a New Testament church. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively with the regional Baptist association and local churches to support community events and outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

Preaching and Teaching:
- Deliver engaging and doctrinally sound sermons on Sunday mornings and evenings.
- Lead a weekly Bible study on Wednesday evenings, providing scriptural insights and fostering spiritual growth.

Discipleship:
- Develop and implement discipleship programs that integrate into all aspects of church life, encouraging spiritual growth and deeper understanding of the faith among all members.
- Mentor and guide church members in their spiritual journey, with a particular focus on cultivating strong discipleship practices.

Youth and Young Adult Ministry:
- Develop a vision for the growth and engagement of youth and young adults within the church.
- Work with church leadership to create programs and activities that attract and retain younger generations, fostering their spiritual development and active participation in church life.

Leadership:
- Lead the church in fulfilling its mission to proclaim the gospel and care for both the congregation and the community.
- Collaborate with the deacons and church staff to organize and oversee church ministries, ensuring that all activities align with the church's mission and values.
- Provide guidance and support to church staff, fostering a collaborative and spiritually enriching work environment.
- Work with the Northeastern Baptist Association and its churches, promoting cooperation and shared efforts.
- Working with churches in the local community for events and outreach initiatives.

Pastoral Care:
- Offer pastoral care and counseling to church members, providing spiritual guidance and support during times of need.
- Engage with the local community to extend the church's ministry and reach, building relationships with individuals and families.

Church Functionality:
- Lead the congregation in understanding and practicing the principles of the New Testament church.
- Ensure all church activities and ministries reflect the teachings and values outlined in the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
Qualifications:
- Must be in full agreement with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
- Demonstrated ability to preach, teach, and lead Bible studies in a manner that is both engaging and doctrinally sound.
- Proven experience in discipleship, with a track record of integrating discipleship into church life.
- A vision for youth and young adult ministry, with experience in developing and implementing programs to engage younger generations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with church staff, deacons, and volunteers.
- A willingness to cooperate with the regional Baptist association and local churches in community events and outreach efforts.
- A deep commitment to pastoral care and community outreach.Experience in a pastoral or ministry leadership role is preferred.
Additional Information:
This is a bi-vocational position, meaning it is understood the pastor is expected to have a primary job that will require time outside of their pastoral duties. The church is committed to supporting the pastor in balancing these responsibilities effectively.
