Job Description:Advance Baptist Church is seeking a bi-vocational pastor to provide spiritual leadership through preaching, teaching, and shepherding our congregation. The pastor will be responsible for preaching the Word of God, organizing the ministries of the church, leading the church's discipleship and evangelism efforts, and caring for the spiritual needs of the members.

Qualifications:

The Pastor must...

· Meet the biblical qualifications for a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

· Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000

· Live a life of personal integrity and demonstrate Christlikeness in word and deed.

· Demonstrate a spiritual gifting to preach and teach the Word of God.

· Demonstrate a commitment to sound doctrine and faithful ministry.

· Have a shepherd's heart to disciple and care for the congregation.

While some seminary training is preferred, it is not required.

Weekly Expectations:

· This position requires 10-15 hours per week.

· Plan Sunday morning worship services and preach on Sunday mornings.

· Lead a prayer time and bible study on Wednesday nights.

· Other duties as requested.

Benefits:

· Annual salary of $15,600.

· This position includes a parsonage that is close to the church in a beautiful, country setting. The home is 3BR, 1BA, on 1 acre with a detached 2-car garage.

· Two weeks of paid vacation.
