Christianity Explored USA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people discover the good news of Jesus Christ through clear, Bible-based resources. Best known for its flagship course, Christianity Explored, the organization provides toolsand training that equip individuals and churches to engage others in meaningful conversations about the gospel. Rooted in theGospel of Mark, the materials let participants watch as Jesus walks off the pages of Mark. The materials are designed to beaccessible in a variety of settings—from small groups to one-on-one conversations and prison ministries. Though independently operated in the U.S., the ministry is part of a global network committed to making the message of Jesus known around the world.

About the Board Chairman
Christianity Explored USA is seeking a missionally aligned, strategically minded Board Chairman to help guide and strengthen the organization as it continues to grow its gospel-centered impact across the U.S. and beyond. Board Chairs provide governance oversight, contribute to strategic planning, and support the Executive Team in fulfilling the mission of equipping Christians to share the good news of Jesus through relational, Bible-based resources. Ideal candidates will bring leadership experience, a strong understanding of evangelical theology, and a heart for evangelism. All board members serve as ambassadors for the ministry, offering prayerful support, wise counsel, and active engagement in advancing its vision and sustainability.
Under the Chairman's leadership, the Board oversees the development of the ministry and holds legal responsibility for the charity. We are also currently seeking a few new Board Directors who are:
- Mission-minded: demonstrably passionate about the spread of the gospel
- Independent thinkers: prepared to confidently voice their own views on a range of issues while working towards consensus with the rest of the board
Job Description
The Board Chairman's responsibilities include:
Mission Alignment & Governance
- Provide oversight to ensure the organization remains faithful to its mission and grounded in biblical, gospel-centered values.
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with fellow board members to shape long-term strategy, set goals, and evaluate organizational performance.
Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with fellow board members in the review and approval of budgets, monitor financial health, and help ensure the organization remains fiscally responsible and sustainable.
Executive Support & Accountability
- Advise and support the Executive Director while holding the role accountable to mission, strategy, and results.
Advocacy & Ambassadorship
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders; promote awareness, build relationships, and connect potential partners, donors, and churches.
Prayer & Spiritual Support
- Regularly pray for the ministry, its leadership, and its mission, offering spiritual encouragement and discernment.
Engagement & Participation
- Attend and lead board meetings, contribute actively to discussions, serve on subcommittees as needed, and participate in key organizational events.

- Experience with international ministries and global structures
- Expertise in digital content development and distribution
- Knowledge of ministries and cultures across the majority world

- Expertise in fundraising
Time Commitments
The board meets four times a year – Once in person and three times via video conferencing. Additional participation in working groups and subcommittees could add up to another four days of commitment across an average year. More generally, we expect trustees to play the role of "executive helpline" to support the exec on an ad-hoc basis with queries where trustees may have special skills, experience or contacts.
Education and Experience
- Committed follower of Jesus with alignment to CE-USA's mission and theology
- Leadership experience in ministry, nonprofit, business, or education
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree helpful but not required

- Strong grasp of the gospel and mission alignment
- Entrepreneurial/Growth-oriented skills
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment
