Position Purpose: To lead the development, planning, and implementation of diverse programs and events at LeTourneau Christian Center, with a particular focus on summer day and overnight camps as well as winter retreats. This role emphasizes building relationships as an Ambassador of LeTourneau within the local community, church leaders, and among camp ministry partners.

Job Description

Primary Role and Responsibilities as Program Director: • Monthly Updates: Provide the Director with monthly updates on staffing, programming, and action plans related to goals. • Quarterly Reports: Prepare monthly reports for the Board detailing programming activities. • Strategic Planning: Work with the Director to develop a vision and strategic plan for summer camps and winter retreats. • Program Development: Create new programs and evaluate existing ones to align with LeTourneau's mission. • Community Promotion: Promote LeTourneau Christian Center through churches, youth groups, community events, and camp families. • Staff Recruitment: Collaborate with the Discipleship Coordinator and Director to recruit and hire summer camp staff. • Recreation Management: Ensure recreational areas are safe and well-maintained, proposing improvements as needed. Train staff and/or see to proper staff activity certification. • Training and Supervision: Train and supervise summer camp staff and volunteers. • Budget Management: Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring compliance with approved limits. • Collaboration: Assist with operations alongside the Guest Services Coordinator, Food Services Head, and Facilities Head. • Compliance: Stay updated on relevant state laws and camp policies. • Crisis Management: Develop emergency procedures and safety protocols for camp activities. • Feedback Mechanisms: Establish channels for participant and staff feedback to improve programs. • Outreach Initiatives: Identify partnerships with local organizations to enhance community involvement. • Event Planning: Lead planning and execution of key camp events, ensuring smooth logistics. • Marketing: Work with the marketing team to ensure accurate information in promotional materials.

Secondary Role and Responsibilities as Ambassador • Relationship Building: Maintain strong connections with church leaders, community members, volunteers, and donors to promote camp initiatives. • Outreach and Engagement: Organize outreach activities to raise awareness and encourage support for the camp. • Communication: Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content. • Leadership and Management: Recruit, train, and support volunteer and staff Ambassadors. • Fundraising Support: Work with donors to secure funding and provide updates on camp activities.

Other Duties: • Staff Meetings: Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings. • Guest Communications: Answer phone calls and relay messages as needed. • Event Support: Assist with special events as appropriate. • Leadership: Maintain clear and positive communication with all camp staff. • Volunteer Services: Recruit volunteers and express appreciation for their contributions. • On-Call Role: Participate in on-call rotations to address guest needs as required. • Cross-Departmental Support: Manage staff and fulfill roles in other departments as necessary. • Certifications: Participate in CPR and First Aid training as required by state regulations.

Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in camping ministry. • Experience: Minimum three years in youth ministry or Christian camp programming preferred.

• Flexibility: Willingness to work varying hours. • Faith Commitment: A faithful believer in Jesus Christ. • Community Involvement: Active participation in a local church. • Statement of Faith: Ability to sign LeTourneau's Statement of Faith.

Skills: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn new software. • Ability to inspire and motivate others. • Understanding of website design and maintenance is preferred.
