Position: Children's Ministry Director
Classification: Full Time / Campus Specific
Reports to: Campus Pastor & Children's Ministry Director

- The ability to understand and implement curricula
- An advocate for connecting with parents and equipping them to be the leader of their child's spiritual development
- Ability to manage systems, use technology, and work within a database-driven check-in process.
- Prior experience in education and/or church related children's ministry
- Degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education or in Children & Family Ministries
- preferred
- Familiarity and/or experience with children with special needs helpful

Job Summary:
The Children's Ministry Director will oversee all programming for children ages 3 through 6th grade at a specific campus of Church of the Open Door. This role ensures a welcoming, safe, and Christ centered environment where children can encounter God, Experience Community and Engage their world. The Director serves as a key leader who equips volunteers, partners with families, and supports the overall vision of Open Door Kids ministry.

Description of Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site leadership during all Sunday and midweek children's programming.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer teams to lead in classroom, check-in, and ministry roles.
- Cultivate a fun, loving, and spiritually enriching environment where children can encounter Jesus.
- Manage and implement age-appropriate curriculum and ensure necessary supplies are available.
- Maintain accurate attendance and family data using web-based check-in and database systems.
- Follow up with new families in coordination with the Campus Pastor and Children's Ministry Director.
- Promote a strong connection between the church and parents, encouraging and equipping them to lead their child's spiritual development.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all Children & Family Ministries policies and procedures.
- Teach and lead children's programs as needed.
- Attend regular staff meetings at the campus and within the children's ministry team.
- Support church-wide events and other ministry duties as assigned.
