Job Overview
The Campus Ministry Director Position of The Cross – Greek Christian Ministry oversees all of the ministries to men and women at their campus. He or she will carry out this position in accordance with The Cross' stated vision, mission, philosophy of ministry, and doctrinal convictions. This is a full time, year-round position based in the Nashville area. The Campus Ministry director will supervise other part time or full-time staff and report directly to the Executive Director and The Cross Board.
Job Description
Duties, Responsibilities, and Essential Job Functions
Spiritual Leadership ● Ensure that all ministries of The Cross are designed and carried out with dependence on prayer coming from overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. ● Spend time building relationships with female and male students, teaching the Word of God faithfully, and equipping students to be stewards of the Good News of Jesus Christ. ● Provide spiritual training, direction, and education on their campus, and specifically the employees and volunteers that are under his/her direct supervision
Staff and Leader Oversight and Training ● Work with Executive Director and other staff to create a spiritually healthy leadership team with the goal of maintaining a student-led ministry that is staff directed. ● Supervise and evaluate all volunteers and leaders at their campus ● Work with Executive Director and other staff to recruit and train new/potential student leaders every spring, utilizing The Cross' training program. ● Participate in staff retreats and oversee implementation of strategies on their campus ● Work with Executive Director to ensure that all policies and procedures for The Cross' management are followed. ● Work with Executive Director to plan and implement a strategy for mailings, emails, and social media for PR and communication purposes.
Ministry to Students ● Be active in all levels of relational ministry, including but not limited to varying events hosted by The Cross, delegating responsibilities and event tasks to other staff members and volunteer leaders as seen fit

● Develop a discipleship structure in congruence with The Cross mission strategies for the benefit of the staff, students, and volunteers. ● Work with Executive Director and other campus staff to develop a plan for reaching every sorority and fraternity on campus. ● Actively lead a small group and maintain one-on-one ministry with female/male students (gender specific) ● Coordinate any Cross ministry events. Student Leader Ministry ● Focus on encouraging and empowering student leaders to take ownership of the ministry out of the overflow of their personal walks in faith. ● Provide oversight of Student Leadership Team meetings of The Cross. ● Develop a plan for reaching the Greek community on your campus. Weekly Large Group Meetings ● Provide oversight of large group meetings of The Cross. ● Provide messages at weekly large group meetings of The Cross, as appropriate. ● Coordinate/schedule talks by visiting pastors and ministry partners for weekly large group meetings of The Cross, as necessary. ● Ensure the spiritual integrity of weekly large group meetings. ● Develop and assign appropriate Leadership Team subcommittees in coordination with Team chairperson(s). ● Find and manage a suitable weekly large group meeting location. Mission Trips ● Make use of Mission Trips as a tool for evangelism and discipleship. ● Recruit and keep quality Crew Chiefs, trained student small group leaders and strategic adult volunteers for Mission Trips. ● Act as Trip Supervisor and logistical point person in interactions with community leaders, Crew Chiefs, student leaders, and participants on Mission Trips.
Board of Directors ● Work with Executive Director to provide Board sub-committee members with materials and support to encourage and sustain a Board of Directors as partners in ministry. ● Help the Board Chairperson to develop a diverse and active Board with representation from pertinent segments of the community. ● Serve as the liaison to various subcommittees of the Board of Directors. Financial Management ● Attain personal fundraising of three quarters of salary and benefits costs. ● Work with Executive Director and Board to implement a fund development plan. Including, but not limited to, developing/maintaining a prospect list, fundraising strategies and an overall financial master plan. ● Work with Executive Director to carry out day to day financial responsibilities of the organization to ensure its financial health

Other Requirements ● Actively participate in a local church. ● Have a community of support/mentor. ● Minimum of a four-year college degree. ● Relational ministry experience. ● Affiliation with a Greek organization preferred. ● Travel as needed. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and the Board. Positions that directly report to this staff member: ● Other full time staff members at their campus ● Part time staff members on their campus ● Crew chiefs ● Volunteers, small group leaders (unless otherwise specified)
