Cornerstone Church is looking for a full-time collegiate minister who will also assist in other areas of ministry as discipleship and small groups. Cornerstone's mission statement is, "Connecting People with Jesus" and has a vision to see the University of Illinois campus and the Champaign community transformed by the power of the Gospel.

The campus minister will primarily take the lead in reaching the University of Illinois campus. Cornerstone has a small collegiate ministry currently and is committed to reaching campus. The four pillars of CornerstoneCollegiate are: Personal evangelism and discipleship, Small Group Bible Studies, Wednesday Night services on campus, and getting students engaged on Sunday Mornings.

Essential Job Functions:

• Recruit and train students to participate in Cornerstone Collegiate
• Recruit and train volunteers to support Cornerstone Collegiate
• Help students transition to life inside the church
• Will lead a bible study for collegiate students and a mid-week student service
• Will assist in the planning and execution of a yearly mission trip
• Plan and lead a fall and spring retreat for students
• Assist in the preaching of God's word at Cornerstone
• Willingly taking on additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Pastor and elders.
• Actively engaging in discipleship and the training of young men and women
• Equipping other volunteers to engage in discipleship

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this job would meet the characteristics laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. They will be passionate about evangelism, discipleship, and will have a heart to serve the local church. Candidates should ideally be seminary graduates or have previous ministry experience.

Cornerstone Church is located in Savoy, Illinois. Savoy is a suburb of Champaign, Illinois. The Champaign metro area is home to almost 240,000 people and is also the home of the University of Illinois. The University of Illinois is less than 3 miles from Cornerstone. Cornerstone averages 60-70 attendees each week and is currently growing.
