Reporting directly to the Chancellor/CEO, the CDO will provide vision and strategic leadership for a comprehensive development and fundraising plan for the entire organization. The CDO collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team to determine fundraising priorities that support the vision and implement the strategic fundraising goals. This role will oversee all development communication and speak into the overall messaging of the institution, with particular focus on the voice and vision of the Chancellor/CEO. The CDO leverages extensive knowledge of the RTS’ vision, purpose, and core values to be an effective ambassador to engage and excite partners in compelling ways to deepen their commitment to the mission.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve the Chancellor by assisting with his top 20 donors as well as maintaining their own portfolio of 100 donors who are top donors from the campus’s.
• Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them.
• Grow a major gifts program, including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
• Oversee, at the direction of the Chancellor /CEO, the solicitation, grant seeking, and reporting.
• Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts, such as bequest expectancies.
• Write, plan, and direct the annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives.
• Direct capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives.
• Coordinate fund raising special events.
• Oversee prospect research and donor diversification processes.
• Work closely with Chancellor/CEO and Development Committee
• Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.
• Oversee creation of publications to support fund raising activities.
• Maintain gift recognition programs.
• Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
• Perform other related duties as requested.
• Decisions and actions are reflective of the mission and values of the organization.
• Supervision of Regional Advancement officers.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree is required; graduate degree preferred.
• A minimum of five years of senior level leadership experience in fund development, sales, and/or equivalent required.
• Expertise in managing and implementing successful, comprehensive fund development programs and preparing an annual development plan to achieve goals.
• Demonstrated success in growing and managing multiple donation streams within a diversified portfolio.
• Demonstrated mature judgment, with a high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.
• Passion and experience in the funding needs of our cause.
• Excellent relationship-builder and is able to interface effectively with all levels of management, staff, and members of the community.
• Ability to travel extensively, up to 40%
