Job Description
Faith Church, Sugar Land, Texas, is a 52-year-old, biblically sound, Lutheran church in the midst of a revitalization. We are committed to becoming a dynamic, multi-generational, multi-ethnic, community-caring church. This position is for a part-time Children's and Family Minister. This person's top priority will be to continue ministering to our nucleus of 10 young children and their families while expanding our influence by drawing more young families and their children to grow in faith with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
This role includes:
- Children's ministry oversight on Sunday mornings. We do a "Worship Plus" time during our worship service. We begin with all of our families worshiping together. We then do a children's message and excuse the children immediately afterward for them to learn the message of the day at their own level. The children's ministry person is in charge of this worship plus time and also does the children's message 75% of the time.
- Lion's Den is a mid-week evening event, Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:30 pm that provides interactive learning mixed with games and artistic events. This event provides a niche for families who want their children to learn and grow spiritually as well as developmentally and socially.
- With the assistance of church volunteers, this person will organize several individual events aimed toward families with children each year. The two main events currently include VBS and a Trunk or Treat event. Create and implement the annual ministry budget.
