BRIDGE CHURCH OVERVIEW

Bridge Church is committed to discipling followers of Jesus Christ to be sent out in order to reach the neighborhood, next generation, and nations with the Gospel!

Bridge Church partners with the Southern Baptist Convention and other evangelical ministries to carry out the Great Commission. We are a healthy, rural, small-group orientated congregation that is contemporary and missional in our methodology. Our statement of faith generally aligns with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 edition.

We currently have an active congregation of 500 people. 52% of the families at Bridge have children, teenagers, or both. We have approximately 125 children (birth-5th grade) in our Bridge Kids and Bridge Kids Jr. Ministry. Nearly 20% of our church body has participated in a short-term mission trip in the last 2 years, and 28 members have been sent out as missionaries, staff, or support teams in church plants since our church began in 2010.

We are praying for a Godly man who, for the next 5 years or more, will disciple and pastor our children and their families, and who will help our church develop our missional focus.

Job Description

CHILDREN'S AND MISSIONS PASTOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pastor for Children and Their Families

• Bridge Kids Jr (babies – Kindergarten) and Bridge Kids (1st-5th Grade)
• Parent Discipleship – Routinely connect with families to develop relationships. Be available to meet with children and families for Biblical guidance or questions. The opportunity to lead a small group for parents/adults is available if desired.
• Manage curriculum and ensure safety protocols stay up to date.
• Recruit, coordinate, and equip volunteers within the children's ministry.
• Maintain consistent communication with families and volunteers within the ministry.
• Oversee programs and activities. Weekly programs occur on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings. The Children's and Missions Pastor will be responsible for teaching one of these weekly programs and will be available for the others as needed.
• Oversee seasonal events. This includes worker training, safety training, Fall Festival, Happy Birthday Jesus Party, Musical, Spring Outreach, and VBS.

Director of Missions Development

• Work closely with current missions teams to provide assistance and leadership for our local, national, and international mission work.
• Develop new mission opportunities for Bridge and prayerfully consider how our current missions endeavors can be improved.
• Determine how Bridge can best help our next generations become more mission-minded.
• Establish new partnerships with area churches, and state, national, or international organizations who share our vision for Christ-centered missions.
• Keep the general body of Bridge updated and engaged with our mission work.
• Oversee seasonal events to include mission training, mission trips, and Missions Day.
• Come alongside the Lead Pastor in developing a church plant/revitalization strategy for our geographical area.
