First Baptist Church LaPlace Part-Time Children's Minister First Baptist Church LaPlace is seeking a part-time children's minister who loves the Lord and has a heart for fostering spiritual transformation in the lives of our children (birth – 5th grade). The Children's Minister is a member of the First Baptist Church LaPlace ministerial staff and is under the supervision of the Senior Pastor. The Children's Minister is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the spiritual needs of children and their families. He/She is highly relational with a heart to provide spiritual development of both children and parents through the children's ministry at First Baptist Church LaPlace. He/She should be a team player who contributes to the children's ministry by leading volunteers and others, nurturing spiritual growth, and organizing special services/events. He/She is expected to contribute to the ministerial staff through fellowship, dedication, cooperation, encouragement, and prayer support as we serve Christ together at First Baptist Church LaPlace. Essential Responsibilities: · Create and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all guests, children, and their families in the children's ministry.· Cast vision and develop strategic plans to help children grow in wisdom and stature to become like Christ.· Oversee the planning and execution of weekly children's programs (Sunday School at 9am and FBC Kidz Midweek on Wednesday nights) including curriculum selection and implementation, lesson planning, and volunteer scheduling.· Identify, recruit, train, deploy, and oversee all leaders within the Children's Ministry which includes volunteers and parents.· Prepare and manage the annual children's ministry budget with accountability and operating within the appropriate processes.· Intentionally build relationships with children and their families.· Work with the VBS Director to plan, prepare, and coordinate our yearly VBS in the summer.· Faithfully participate in the ministries of the church family.· Provide oversight and leadership in planning our Fall Trunk or Treat Outreach.· Plan at least one children's ministry event which can be an activity, or a mission event each month outside of Children's Sunday School and FBC Kidz on Wednesday night.· Perform any other ministerial functions assigned by the Senior Pastor. Hours and Compensation: · This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours a week.-This person is expected to work 4 hours on Sunday from 8am-12pm, 4 hours on Wednesday night from 4pm-8pm for staff meeting and FBC Kidz programming.-Each staff member has the flexibility to organize their remaining hours with the approval of the Senior Pastor to best meet their personal needs and the needs of the ministry.· This position is paid $1200 a month before taxes with a bi-weekly pay period to align with church policies.· This position is eligible to apply and receive the NOBTS Caskey Scholarship (full tuition up to 8,000 annually) for undergraduate or master's study at NOBTS.
