Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Oversee and organize effective programs for fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, evangelism, and service for students ages 6-12 at FFC. Focus is on Sunday School and one mid-week activity night.
- Ensure that all volunteers are organized/scheduled and supported, and that materials and general preparation is done beforehand.
- Build, maintain, and grow quality relationships with the (1) students, (2) parents, and (3) volunteers.
- Attend the Annual General Business Meeting, Staff Meetings and any other Congregational Meetings.
- Manage finances in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
- Gifted in children's ministry. Loves young people and loves to spend time with them. Has a joyful spirit and good sense of humor.
- A self-motivated leader, capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry, possessing relational skills with students, parents, and volunteers.
- Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy family life.
- Meet Biblical standards for church leaders similar to (I Timothy 3:8-12). Model Biblical stewardship of time, talents and tithe, and regularly attend public worship.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and students.
- Very strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Fully capable of preaching a message targeted to children/youth.
- Willing to become a member of this church, be in agreement with FFC's Statement of Faith, willing to submit to a background check.
- Prefer experience in building and working within a multicultural congregation to carry out the ministry goals.
Working Relationships
- Accountability – ultimately responsible to the Board of Deacons and is accountable to them through the Senior Pastor in the performance of duties.
- Regular reviews – there will be semi-annual ministry updates prepared for the board and an annual review done by the Board of Deacons.
