Position Overview
The Children's Ministry Director Director is responsible for leading and overseeing Children's Ministry programs. This position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for teaching children, a commitment to spiritual development, and gifted in organizational leadership. The candidate will work closely with pastoral staff, volunteers, and families to ensure the church's mission is upheld in all children's programs.
Responsibilities
Primary Weekly Responsibility:
Plan, Lead, Recruit Workers, Organize, Schedule, Facilitate Sunday Morning Children's Ministry Events including Nursery, Children's Sunday School Classes, and Bethel Kidz during Worship Service. Plan, Lead, Recruit Workers, Organize, Schedule, Facilitate Wednesday Night Children's Ministries throughout the year for all ages from Nursery to 5th Grade. Spiritual Leadership:
• Develop and lead a Christ-centered children's ministry for ages infants through 5th grade. Provide discipleship material and opportunities for children and adult workers in the Children's Ministry.
• As needed, teach Bible-based lessons during Sunday School, Children's Church, and midweek programs.
• Guide children in their spiritual growth and understanding of the Gospel.
Program Management:
• Plan, organize, and execute special children's events, including Vacation Bible School (VBS), holiday programs, and outreach activities.
• Coordinate childcare for church events as needed.
• Ensure safety policies and background checks are maintained for all Children's Ministry volunteers.
Volunteer Development:
• Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to assist in children's programs.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and gratitude among volunteers.
Parent Engagement:
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding program updates, resources, and events.
• Partner with families to support children's spiritual growth at home.
• All duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in ministry, education, communications, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children and coordinating church programs.
Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Creative and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Spiritual Requirements:
• A committed Christian with a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Agreement with the church's mission, vision, and doctrinal statements.
Work Environment
• Schedule: Part-time position with flexible hours, including Sundays, some evenings, and special events.
• Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 30 lbs).
Comfortable working with children in an active setting.
