Children's Ministry Director

Job Overview

We are seeking an organized, heart-led Children’s Director to oversee and shepherd our children’s ministry (Nursery through 6th grade) in a 1,000-attender church environment. This is a full-time staff director position (non-pastoral) responsible for organizing programs, supporting families, and equipping volunteer teams to help children grow in their faith.

Salary Range: $42,000 – $52,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Key Duties

• Sunday & Midweek Programs: Lead and oversee Sunday School, Jr. Church, Nursery, and Wednesday night Awana. Ensure curriculum, teachers, and supplies are ready every week.
• Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteer teams across all children's environments.
• Check-In & Safety: Manage the children’s check-in booth, ensuring safe, clean, orderly, and welcoming environments for families and guests.
• Events: Oversee Vacation Bible School (VBS) and coordinate major children’s ministry events.
• Family Communication: Keep parents informed and encouraged, collaborating with church leadership to support family discipleship.

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with our church’s statement of faith.
• Experience in children’s ministry, elementary education, childcare, or Awana leadership.
• Proven ability to recruit, organize, schedule, and lead volunteer teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage calendars, supply budgets, and check-in software.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
