Children's Ministry Director | Job Description Green Acres Baptist Church, Athens, GA

Requirements • A passionate personal relationship with Jesus Christ. • Has a desire to share the life of Jesus with children and see them begin/grow in Christian faith. • Committed to vision, values, and beliefs of the church. • Supportive of other church staff and volunteers. • Demonstrates evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions • Team-oriented, able to work with a large team of volunteers. • Loves children and demonstrates patience in dealing with them. • Self-starting, able to work independently. • Ability to deal with difficult people and situations in a loving and gracious manner. • Ability to keep conversations/issues with staff, volunteers, students, and parents confidential. • Complies with a background check.

Time Commitment 4 hours each Sunday 3 hours each Wednesday 8 hours of weekly planning and preparation *Quarterly outreach events

Responsibilities • Able to teach children and develop curriculum with Pastor. • Able to email volunteers weekly schedules and announcements. • Able to coordinate weekly volunteers for all children's ministries. This includes recruiting and training new and existing volunteers. • Able to set up and break down for weekly Sunday and Wednesday children's ministries. • Able to lead quarterly team trainings. • Able to plan and organize VBS week or days with volunteers. • Able to communicate Church's vision for Children's ministry. • This is a part-time salaried position.

Time off 4 Sundays PTO depending on volunteer schedule and leadership team availability. 4 Wednesdays PTO depending on volunteer schedule and leadership team availability. Any additional PTO with Pastor approval. *We are a church, so there is always grace and flexibility. We know things come up, so we have an amazing volunteer team that helps when needed.

Compensation $15,000.00 per year.
