Children’s Ministry Director
Job Description
In collaboration with the Senior Pastor and other ministerial staff, cast and lead vision to reach unsaved children and families in our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In collaboration with the Senior Pastor and other ministerial staff, strategize and lead plans for discipling children in our church – growing them in Bible knowledge, Christian character, service in the church, and love for Jesus, his people, and the lost.
Supervise, direct, plan, and coordinate all events, activities, programs, and ministries for children (Babies – 5th graders) – including weekly Sunday and Wednesday events, trips off campus, and special outreach events.
Develop healthy communication with ministries geared toward children and their families.
Coordinate with other ministerial and volunteer leadership to make young families feel welcomed and loved at Trinity Baptist Church.
Develop and implement policies and procedures designed to keep children safe and to assure parents of their safety. Make Trinity a church that prevents abuse, but also cares well for those who may have experienced abuse.
Enlist, train, continually evaluate, and encourage Children's program teachers for Sunday School, Kids' Camp, Wednesday night events, and special outreach events. Make sure all volunteers are background checked and cleared to serve.
Work with the Children's Ministry Team to develop, plan, and implement activities to enhance the spiritual nurture of children.
In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, develop, choose, and implement biblical curriculum for Sunday School, Kids' Camp, Wednesday night, and other programs.
With assistance from the Senior Pastor and Children's Ministry Team Chair, prepare an annual proposed budget to be presented to the Finance Committee. Operate the children's ministry in accordance with the approved Children's budget.
Attend personal/professional seminars to enhance Trinity's Children's ministry.
Attend all-staff meetings, ministerial staff meetings, and ministerial staff development activities (i.e. "book club").
Communicate well with staff in general and Facilities staff in particular, so that events and programs flow smoothly. Communicate with Children's ministry volunteers, so that they stay informed and know that they are appreciated.
Demonstrate a team-oriented approach, avoiding a siloed mentality and being willing to help other ministries at Trinity for the sake of the overall church's mission.
