Charlotte Chinese Baptist Church

Charlotte Chinese Baptist Church (CCBC) is currently hiring a Chinese pastor. Charlotte is located in North Carolina, USA, with a population of approximately 930,000. CCBC has about 100 members, about half of whom regularly attend Chinese services, while the rest participate in English services. The Chinese pastor will work together with the English pastor to shepherd the entire church, to build up the body, to preach the gospel, and to serve the congregation and the community.

Basic Requirements:

• Proficiency in Mandarin/English preaching, with excellent communication skills, and a calling that aligns with CCBC's beliefs and mission (see https://www.ccbcnc.org/chinese-churchdocuments).
• Adherence to the Biblical principles outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
• Those who have been baptized for more than 5 years, have been married, and have children are preferred. We look forward to your participation in our ministry.

Duties:

• Honor and abide by the church's beliefs, cooperate with the church's leadership; there might be differences in opinions, but we are all one body in Christ, and should strive for unity.
• Preaching, teaching, pastoral care and visitation, presiding over sacraments, participating in prayer meetings and small group ministry, etc.
• Communicating with the congregation, promoting the church's various ministries, strengthening and encouraging believers to grow spiritually, promoting outreach to the local community and the broader community.
• Leadership and training for various ministries, including accountability and leadership of small group leaders.
• Providing pastoral care and meeting the needs of families, including counseling and assistance with weddings, funerals, and family crises.
• Any other tasks assigned by the church's leadership or coordination of regional and denominational activities, as well as training and preaching assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred candidates are those who have graduated from a seminary with a Master of Divinity or equivalent degree.
• A heart for missions and evangelism; an ability to live out their faith in their daily life.
• Leadership ability, empathy, and willingness to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
• At least three years of pastoral experience or equivalent ministry experience.
• Having gifts in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, with a calling to shepherd the congregation.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States or Canada or having permanent residency status.

Salary and Benefits:

Formed in 1982, Charlotte Chinese Baptist Church (CCBC) held its early gatherings at Shamrock Drive Baptist Church. As the church grew, many lifted up prayers for a suitable site and witnessed God's gracious hands at work. In 1994, God sent Hearts and Hammers volunteers, a ministry of Independence Hill Baptist Church. Through their loving help and hard work, the phase I church building was completed in 1994 and phase II in 1997, both miraculously in one week. Continuously guided by God, in 2012, the phase III church building was completed and English Sunday Worship was started.As a spiritual family, our prayer is to be "like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither." (Psalm 1:3) On Sunday, through prayer meeting, Sunday School, and Sunday Worship, we pursue God's heart and enjoy His presence; through fellowship lunch and after-lunch activities (choir practice, Chinese School, sports ......), we interact and build up each other.God is the only answer to the pursuit for eternity or hunger for love.
