CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church (RELC) seeks an energetic and multitalented person to serve in the permanent position of Administrator.  RELC is a small active community congregation located in North Arlington, Virginia. 

RELC is a welcoming congregation intentionally inclusive towards bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender and disabled parishioners and employees. The newly appointed Pastor brings vision and scholarship to his leadership. The position of Administrator is designed to be expansive. The Administrator provides broad support to the RELC Pastor, the Church Council, and many active committees and volunteers and is RELC’s go-to resource for multiple administrative services.  The Administrator also provides a focus of continuity and cohesion to otherwise occasional and unscripted activities in the Church’s non-hierarchical environment. The Administrator is the recognized, on-site agent for the routine secular business of the church, working with and coordinating parishioners, contractors and the public.  Tasks include:

Office:                         Oversee operations, hours, visitor reception, meeting schedules, contacts with tradesmen, inspectors and suppliers; procure office supplies; oversee office equipment use and routine maintenance; arrange for altar flowers, kitchen and communion supplies

Property:                     Coordinate use of church facilities, setup for special events/services, and manage settings for automatic entrance door locking

Publications:               Prepare and print weekly church service bulletins, announcements, pastor’s Monthly Report, “Steeple Light” (RELC publication), the annual Congregation Report, and other materials as needed

Communications:        Postal and inter-office mail collection, sorting, distribution; E-mail management,

“Constant Contact” (communication with parishioners); Assist in website management

Other:                          Tasks as may be assigned by the Pastor

Position Details: RELC is located on an active ART bus line and is near the East Falls Church Metro Station and the Westover Community center.  The church’s nave and offices are part of a larger building complex that includes class rooms and studios currently leased to The Village School, a learner-centered K-8 private school. Performance of the position Administrator is on-site at 6201 Washington Boulevard. 

The hiring package will balance qualifications, hours, salary, and benefits up to a ceiling of $52K annually.  Please submit a resume and cover letter with a short paragraph stating the reason in applying as the RELC Church Administrator.
