Purpose of the Apprenticeship

·Assist Zion Reformed Church with growing the Gospel via our youth and evangelistic ministries

·Provide the apprentice with the spiritual nurturing, ministerial training, and relational support necessary to thrive in a future church plant

Job Description

Church Planting Responsibilities

·Year 1: The apprentice will become acclimated to the area and pastoral ministry at Zion and will receive mentoring in general pastoral areas

·Year 2: The apprentice will begin receiving planting-specific mentoring, creating site assessments, and developing a church planting strategic plan

·Year 3: The apprentice will begin splitting time between Zion and the future plant with the aim to begin planting full-time by year end

Zion Outreach Responsibilities

·Lead existing outreach ministries

·Assist with expanding Gospel ministry inside/outside of Zion

·Assist with social media/website

Zion Youth Responsibilities

·Lead existing youth ministries

·Assist with enhancing/expanding youth ministries

·Assist Session in shepherding youth and their families

Additional Responsibilities

·Regular attendance/participation in the life of the church

·Preaching and Teaching as Session-approved opportunities arise

·Assisting Pastor Barkley (Zion Teaching Elder and Ohio Presbytery Missions Committee Chair) with Presbytery Missions work

·Perform administrative and other duties as assigned
