Job Overview

The Advent Christian General Conference's Church Planting Residency is a unique opportunity to be trained to plant a healthy, Gospel-centered church. During the 18-24 month residency, the church planting resident will have the opportunity to serve in a local setting while also preparing to launch a new church plant. The residency opportunity and site church will be at Northside Community Church in Knightdale, North Carolina.

Job Description

The church planting residency is split between a Year 1 focus and a Year 2 focus. Below is a high-level overview of weekly responsibilities while in residency:

Year 1: Personal Development: 4 hours New Church Plant Development: 8-10 hours Staff / Ministry Responsibilities: 20-25 hours Administrative / Organizational Tasks: 4 hours

Year 2: Personal Development: 4 hours New Church Plant Development: 20-25 hours Staff / Ministry Responsibilities: 8-10 hours Administrative / Organizational Tasks: 4 hours **Meet with assigned church planting coach

During the residency, residents will lead vital ministries, preach regularly and may pioneer new initiatives at the site church—many of which could later be passed on to lay leaders. A successful residency will include the resident:

(a)developing a church plant ministry plan (b)recruiting a core team (c)developing an evangelistic outreach plan (d)developing a financial plan (e)constructing a leadership development plan
