SHORT-TERM VISION

This residency offers direct development and guidance for a future church planter or pastor over the course of 2 years. This track will equip a resident with an understanding of how to multiply disciples and churches as he prepares to be sent out.

LONG-TERM VISION

To see a church planting movement that multiplies disciples and churches of all nations among rural communities. The Resident will use his time to serve as a catalyst in creating momentum to see churches planted across the rural midwest and beyond.

AREAS OF FOCUS

BIBLE

The Bible is the Word of God given to all believers to know God and to know how to walk in godliness. Furthermore, Paul tells Timothy that it is through this Word that the pastor is equipped for his calling (2 Timothy 3:17). Therefore, one of the development areas focuses on the resident growing in his understanding and comprehension of the Bible. Through this book, the ministry leader knows God and is equipped for his calling by God.

FORMATION

One of the great dangers of ministry leadership is growing in skills, competencies, or external fruitfulness while allowing one's character to lag or your soul to shrivel. The Formation development area will focus on the resident's personal life and relationship with Jesus. No leader can lead people into deep communion with the Lord and possess spiritual, physical, or relational health if he has not first experienced that deep communion with the Lord. These development areas will help the residents be formed in godliness and health.

LEADERSHIP

Part of a ministry leader's faithfulness to the work to which he is called is to grow in his ability to lead others. While much of leadership comes through one's own communion with the Lord and equipping through His Word, there are also practical areas of growth for a leader. This development area will focus on the resident growing in areas of leadership so that he can better lead God's people.

MINISTRY SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT

A crucial part of the experience will be getting hands-on experience in church planting and global missions. The resident will be an integral part of efforts to see current church planting and missions efforts carried forward.
