Job Overview

We are seeking a Communications & Content Specialist who is an excellent writer, editor, and strategist. This person must be curious enough to learn our church's unique "voice," compatible enough to fit well on our fun-loving & hard-working team, organized enough to oversee churchwide communication at Coram Deo, and strategic enough to help get our message out to both internal and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert on Coram Deo's communication style
• Oversee, coordinate, and execute all churchwide communication
• Write, edit, and proof all internal and external communication
• Oversee all content and communication-related projects (print, video, web, etc.)
• Create and manage a communication calendar
• Be available, as needed, to help coach staff on clear, effective communication for their areas of ministry
• Create new content and repurpose existing content to serve the broader church
• Propose updated strategies for social media and YouTube that are in keeping with Coram Deo's values & voice (low-hype, historic, creedal)
• Increase SEO and strengthen Coram Deo's web presence
• Oversee, maintain, & extend Coram Deo's social media impact
• Other duties as assigned

Expectations:

• 40-50 hours per week, normal daytime hours, Monday – Friday & some Sundays
• Presence on-site and with colleagues is a must; this job requires strong collaboration and is not a "remote work" role
• Salary Group E2: $48k-64k (based on qualifications & experience)

• This role requires deep & patient learning of Coram Deo's vision, values, history, and voice.
• Obviously this role has an implicit"on-call" component; if a communications crisis erupts, you need to be able to intervene & act with haste.
• This is a high-collaboration role, especially with the Lead Pastor. As the "Chief Communicator" of the church, his voice needs to continue to shape the church's communication.
