Communications Coordinator

Job Overview

The Communications Coordinator will work with the Director of Communications to develop and execute all aspects of the church’s online, print, and social communications and marketing. This person will help prioritize, coordinate, and oversee production of all communication media and materials that promote and represent The Orchard across all six unique locations. This staff person will be aligned with our Statement of Faith and will collaborate with the leaders of ministry areas on all communications in supporting desired ministry outcomes.

Job Description

PROJECT COORDINATION: • Receive, organize, plan, and execute multiple communication projects in a timely manner. • Coordinate communication with internal staff (i.e., pastoral staff, campus administrators) and outside vendors (i.e., website, proofreaders, photographers) • Coordinate communication with volunteer roles and work to build necessary volunteer teams (proofreaders, photography, video, etc.) • Coordinate and carry out special projects in support of church events. • Maintain communications project timelines and deadlines.

MEDIA COORDINATION: • Maintain up-to-date website content and functionality. • Develop, maintain, and execute a social media strategy and content calendar. • Track and report on social media analytics monthly.

ADMINISTRATION: • Maintain communications project timelines and deadlines. • Process invoices, check requests, and credit card forms. • Support the Membership Meeting communications and voting process. • Other duties as assigned by Director of Communications

QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to multi-task • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. • Strong organizational skill • Project management skills • Positive and supportive attitude; team player • Ability to set and adhere to deadlines. • Availability during normal business hours • Alignment with our Statement of Faith • Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations ideal • Ministry experience in a local church or other large ministry venue a plus

OTHER SKILLS: • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and other MS programs. • Experience with email marketing software. • Proficient in social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) • Ability to learn Asana (Project Management Tool) and Canva
