This role reports directly to the Rector and will lead St. Simon's to partner with area organizations, engage in community events, and create presence in community spaces with the goal of ensuring everyone experiences the abundant life Jesus came to bring. Qualities of candidates should include a strong grounding in faith, skill at navigating social media platforms, excellent people and communications skills, creativity and willingness to innovate, and experience building community.

Job Description

Specific Responsibilities Described: • Identifies community organizations, spaces, and events congruent with St. Simon's call to ensure all experience delight, have their basic needs met, and are connected to community. o Seeks out community events offerings and organization participation opportunities. o Develops a wide range of relationships with other community group leaders o Works closely with Rector and vestry ensuring connection of these relationships and activities to St. Simon's core call • Works in partnership with the Rector and various groups within the congregation to foster activity with these organizations, spaces, and events, and lead congregational focus beyond the walls of our physical facility. o Helps groups and individuals within the congregation connect with organizations, activities, and spaces outside of it via shared projects and programs. o In partnership with the Rector and vestry, leads St. Simon's to participate in a minimum of four community events in the first year and expanding in following years. o Leads congregational follow up on these connections, building on their momentum • Coordinates communications and online presence, working with volunteers to ensure clear and timely internal and external connection through communication. o Supports and directs the Tech Production Team to ensure a high quality online worship experience. o Posts regularly on Facebook and Instagram to invite our neighbors to engage and connect with St. Simon's through service, learning, and worship opportunities. Maintains (or works with volunteers to maintain) St. Simon's website, keeping it up to the minute with information about the congregation o Works with staff and volunteers to ensure effective internal communications • Works to connect St. Simon's to the broader community seeking to include others in our parish and its mission
