FULL JOB SUMMARY

The director of advancement is responsible to manage the vision for Tomorrow Clubs International's global advancement efforts. S/he will be responsible to increase, strengthen, and diversify Tomorrow Clubs International's funding sources and will be expected to meet annual fundraising goals. This is an entrepreneurial position. To succeed, the candidate must be an internally compelled self-starter who is willing and able to take initiative in establishing a long-term, vibrant and engaged constituency of Tomorrow Clubs International supporters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of Tomorrow Clubs International
  • Engage and develop growth strategy with the Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to include corporate, foundation, government grants, etc. to support the organization's growth
  • Manage development strategic plan
  • Recruit and manage up to 75 relationships with key high-impact donors
  • Serve as a spokesperson on Tomorrow Clubs International's behalf at events, churches, and other meetings
  • Engage in key circles and build relationships with connectors throughout the country
  • Oversee development of all written fundraising materials, including grant proposals, appeal letters, funding reports, etc.
  • Serve in the development of key fundraising campaigns, planning for and overseeing the execution of all campaign fundraising
  • Establish a planned giving program and identify, cultivate, and solicit donors
  • Develop and monitor the development department budget (income and expenses)
  • Hold primary responsibility for the target revenue for each year
  • Model servant leadership in the work environment

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of Tomorrow Clubs International
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience
  • Hands-on experience with foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and major gifts
  • Record of success in achieving fund development goals
  • Self-starting, entrepreneurial, independent sensibility required
  • Ability to speak comfortably and compellingly to groups of all sizes
  • Excellent networking ability
  • Demonstrated success in providing strategic direction for programmatic growth
  • Strong organizational skills including effective time management
  • Demonstrated working relationships with executives, board members, and volunteers
  • Established track record of taking initiative
  • Demonstrated lifestyle of Christ-like humility, compassion and generosity with time, talents and treasure
  • International experience and cross-cultural skills helpful
