Director of Children’s Ministry
Job Overview
Berean Baptist Church is seeking a Director of Children's Ministry working within alignment and harmony of Berean's statement of faith, vision and mission, and our elder board. The Director of Children's Ministry will be responsible for supporting and contributing to a vision for proclaiming the Gospel to children and discipling them to follow all that Christ commands in light of the Gospel. The Director of Children's Ministry will report to the Pastor of Children's Ministry.

Job Description
Requirements:
- Regenerate, mature, and reverent follower of Jesus Christ who is committed to the local church and the children God has entrusted to her influence with a strong understanding of the Scripture
- Willing to become a member of Berean Baptist Church
- Experience in working with families and leading children's programs
- Ability to work in a team environment with relational and team-building skills
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and self-motivated and teachable attitude/spirit with openness to feedback
Discipleship Experience
- Review all curriculum for the theological and philosophical alignment with Berean's statement of faith, vision, and position documents
- Train and oversee teachers and volunteers to implement lessons, activities, and supervision for all classes during Sunday services
- Work with and oversee teachers and volunteers for Wednesday night program
- Work with an oversee teachers and volunteers for annual VBS
- Ensure a timely and accurate check-in process for parents and children
- Assist with registration for visitors and new parents
- Ensure all classrooms are equipped with supplies and procedures prior to the start of class
- Create and share resources to help families worship at home
Leadership and Volunteer Development
- Recruit and equip volunteers to teach/serve in the Berean Children's ministry
- Lead volunteer teams to minister through excellent planning, communication, training, and vision casting
- Fill absentee volunteer positions through recruitment, background checks, assigning roles, training, creating name tags, Etc.
- Support volunteers by providing encouragement, resources, feedback, and demonstrations of appreciation
- Coordinate with parents and volunteers to provide support and accommodations for numerous children with special needs
- Attend weekly COG staff meetings
- Lead quarterly volunteer leadership team and parent advisory board meetings
Administrative
- Create/organize our Gospel Project curriculum for Sunday classes
- Develop and implement classroom procedures for all classes
- Ensure thorough and efficient communication with parents regarding updates and curriculum details via newsletters, emails, and social media
- Maintain current records and databases for volunteer contact information, applications, and background checks
- Create and maintain a file for events with event information, a detailed timeline, notes suggesting enhancements and things that went well so that the event can be easily planned again, changed, or duplicated for the next year
- Create and maintain a Children's Ministry Manual with policies and procedures, update annually
- Oversee Children's Ministry budget, recording expenditures, and filing requests annually
- Assist other church staff as needed
