Denver is a fast-growing community that sits on the shores of Lake Norman just North of Charlotte, North Carolina. DBC was chartered in 1984 with 69 members. It has continued to grow through the preaching of the gospel, commitment to God's Word, and love of mission. DBC now sits on 35 acres of property in the heart of Denver and sees around 450 people attending every week. Primary Function Planning, coordinating, directing and evaluating a comprehensive ministry for children, birth through grade 5. Job Responsibilities a) Provide oversight, leadership and coordination to Children's ministries; Bible fellowship (Wee Connect & Power-Up), Awana, annual Vacation Bible School and Children's Summer Camp. b) Provide oversight and directing to all leaders of the Children's ministry programs. c) Provide on-site leadership at Children's Ministries activities on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and VBS. d) Conduct regular team meetings (i.e. monthly) with leaders of the Children's ministries programs to enhance team dynamics and relational equity. e) Attend the weekly DBC staff meetings on Tuesday morning. f) Guide the children's ministry in setting goals consistent with the overall objectives of the church. g) Enlist and equip an adequate number of children's leaders to maintain proper ratios in order to achieve the goals of the education ministry. h) Determine and recommend organizational structure, space usage and equipment needs for the children's ministries. i) Prepare and submit the annual budget needs for the children's ministries and administer the budget according to stated policy. j) Develop and implement an equipping and training ministry for parents of children and children's leadership that aligns with other DBC ministries. k) Provide oversight and direction to the directors of the DBC Preschool and After-School program. Qualifications a) Prior experience in Children's Ministries b) Preference for degree in pastoral ministries from an accredited university
